Proverbs 19:5-7

^5 (A)A false witness will not go unpunished,
    and he who ^(B)breathes out lies will not escape.
⁶ Many seek the favour of a generous man,^[a]
    and everyone is a friend to a man who gives ^(C)gifts.
^7 (D)All a poor man's brothers hate him;
    ^(E)how much more do his friends go far from him!
He pursues them with words, but does not have them.^[b]
